Controller and scope

01 Lab, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France, SIREN 991 014 796, is the controller for the processing described here. This policy covers the look-up.life website, access requests and receipt of Look Up and Look Up Kids reports. Permissions and processing specific to the apps are explained in their interfaces and privacy information.

Access requests

The form collects your email address, selected products, request date and, for Kids, your statement that an adult is providing support. This information is used to process your request and inform you when the requested access is available, on the basis of pre-contractual measures taken at your request. Without an email address and product selection, the request cannot be processed. The website does not ask for a child’s name, age or account.

News by email

Subscribing to news is optional, separate from requesting access and based on your consent. The box is unchecked by default; subscription requires email confirmation. You may withdraw consent using the unsubscribe link in messages or by contacting 01 Lab. Evidence of your choice and confirmation is retained to substantiate the messages sent.

Reports and support

When you send a report from an app or suggest an app for the ranking, we receive the text, product and request type. For a missing app, the app name and, if provided, its store link are saved. A reply email address is optional. For bugs, technical information and screenshots are optional: app version, interface version, Android version, manufacturer, model and technical permission or update states. Check screenshots before sending and avoid other people’s data. These details are used to handle requests, fix issues and secure the service on the basis of our legitimate interest. They are not included in the public ranking.

Browsing and security

Hosting processes information needed to serve requests, including IP addresses and browser technical data. Forms use time-limited counters based on an IP fingerprint to prevent abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest. No advertising tools or social pixels are used. Optional PostHog analytics require your prior consent and measure useful site pages and actions, without form contents or session recordings. The light or dark theme is remembered only if you accept preferences.

Recipients and providers

Only people authorised by 01 Lab can access requests and reports. Technical providers handle website hosting (Vercel), the private intake service (Sites and its Cloudflare D1/R2 infrastructure), and email where used (Resend for sending; Cloudflare Email Routing and Google for receiving). Data is neither sold nor published. Authorities may receive it where required by law.

Retention

Access requests are retained while being processed and followed up; their necessity is reviewed after twelve months without access or further contact. For news subscriptions, contact details are retained for the subscription’s duration, then deleted or limited to what is needed to honour unsubscribing and document consent. Reports are retained during resolution and useful issue follow-up; screenshots that are no longer needed are deleted. In a dispute or to meet a legal obligation, only necessary information may be retained with restricted access. Anti-abuse counters expire according to their protection windows.

Transfers and safeguards

Our providers may process some data outside the European Economic Area. Their data protection commitments and transfer safeguards are described in their contractual documents: Vercel, Cloudflare, OpenAI and Resend. Connections use HTTPS; administration and attachments have restricted access. We do not promise exclusively European hosting.

Your rights and requests

Depending on the processing, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You may withdraw consent without affecting previous processing. Contact us through the Look Up contact or by post to our registered office, quoting “Personal data — Look Up”. We normally respond within one month; any extension permitted by applicable rules will be explained. You may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (in French).

Look Up Kids

Kids access requests on the website are intended for parents and supporting adults. Do not provide a child’s name, date of birth, conversation or sensitive information. The responsible adult should review the Kids app’s permissions and features; visiting this website does not activate them.
